Choice number one.........vintage Edward Wormley designed Dunbar Sofa. Its really comfortable the cushions are down. But as you can see the fabric is a little wild, even for my taste
Choice number two......vintage Florence Knoll sofa. This one may not be for sale any longer but we will include it in the discussion.
Choice number three.........Crate and Barrell Petrie Sofa..........in the custom fabric shown below.

i think jason bervert and kristi williams both have the crate and barrel petrie sofa, however theirs are both white. i vote for that one.
Buy new, then you won't be inadvertantly buying someone else's crotch critters.

Mike and I considered the Modernica ofa...but it is so NOT comfortable. How about one of these? http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/collection.do?method=get&id=378104&cat=27

My links are too long. Go to www.roomandboard.com Click Sofas, and check out Clarke, Burke, and Andre.
i like both the vintage...particularly the first one, it was the down cushions that got me...can you recover it?
I guess to answer your all questions. We have about $650 in Crate and Barrell gift cards. And after I get this record storage built about $2000 to spend at Retro Inferno (I'll post more about what else were getting later.) So MV I discounted room and board right away since we didn't have any gift money there......though I do like their sofa's. Jackie....the problem with reupholstry is we would pay more for that than we would the sofa to begin with. We can always wait to see what other vintage sofa's he gets. But I'm not a very patient person.
I vote Petrie
Oooh... I love the crate&barrel sofa. I've had my eye on that one myself but I wish it came in a sectional. LOVE the fabric choice too!
