Well after we looked and looked for some nice planters for the house, we found several of them but they were ridicously expensive. So I took a look at the pile of cypress siding we have left and decided to make our own. After pulling alot of nails, squaring the planks on the table saw, planing down the siding to get to some fresh wood, and then constructing the first prototype. The pecky cypress looks really nice once its cleaned up. I'm halfway through makeing several more of them. I don't really know how many I'm going to make.
The updated my profile on the blog competition and wrote a little deal to summerize what we've done. I thought they did a really nice job.
I am a third generation home builder in the Kansas City area. I grew up working for my Fathers construction company and I graduated w/ an Architecture degree from Kansas State University in 2005. I hope to eventually combine my two passions into a Design Build Company. I am currently working for myself at Studio Build doing projects in the Kansas City area. I'm currently looking for design/build work in the area and am tackling several local projects. Please contact me if you would like to discuss a project.
The following links are ones that I found throughout my remodel process. I purchased things from many of the sites, I'm not affiliated with any of them though I could be if for some reason they want to send me some free stuff. Hopefully these help some of you in your own adventures.
