Here is some pictures of Doug, spraying the lacquer. We ended up going with a pre-catalyzed furniture grade lacquer in a hand rubbed finish. It turned out awesome! Doug has also painted the ceiling in the dining room and that made a huge difference. I could never decide if I wanted to paint it or not and we finally decided to paint it and I'm glad we did. It lightened up the lower level a lot, I think we will be really happy we decided to paint it. It's hard to get some good pictures of the lacquer, its been cloudy a lot lately and I don't have any lights wired so its difficult to get the shots with the flash going off.
This blog was started to document our remodel of a Mid Century Modern home in Kansas City built by Don Drummond. You will also find information on my furniture design/build and other side projects.
I am a third generation home builder in the Kansas City area. I grew up working for my Fathers construction company and I graduated w/ an Architecture degree from Kansas State University in 2005. I hope to eventually combine my two passions into a Design Build Company. I am currently working for myself at Studio Build doing projects in the Kansas City area. I'm currently looking for design/build work in the area and am tackling several local projects. Please contact me if you would like to discuss a project.

The following links are ones that I found throughout my remodel process. I purchased things from many of the sites, I'm not affiliated with any of them though I could be if for some reason they want to send me some free stuff. Hopefully these help some of you in your own adventures.
